Boyfriend caught by surprise when he broke into girlfriend’s head with Machete near Philadelphia, authorities say

When police received no response at a suburban Philadelphia property after neighbors called to report domestic violence, they went around to the back to look through the window.

There, they said, they saw a man in his 30s beheading his girlfriend with a machete.

The victim was dead when officers arrived and was in various stages of dissection.

Police responded to a call to Willow Apartments in Clifton Heights around 4 a.m. Friday. After knocking on the door several times, officers investigated alternative routes to the ground-floor mansion in Delaware County.

Witnesses told reporters that police shouted at the man to drop his weapon and open the door before they kicked in. He was detained without incident.
