We cry with Claudia Harvie, who watched her father die on a dwell stream to her laptop computer. The nurses, all the time sporting gloves for his or her safety, would contact him to let him know they had been there. “One of many nurses,” Harvie says, “she was superb. She would caress his hair and face. One night time, she was holding his hand, and he introduced it as much as his mouth and gave it a little bit kiss. It was the final second he appeared alive.” Harvie watched on the display as her father’s respiration grew to become extra labored. His head jerked as he tried to get air, till lastly his chest stopped shifting. “The nurse mentioned she might give us a while alone together with his physique to grieve. She walked out of the room, and we stayed there on the video, crying and telling tales,” Harvie recollects. “The nurse got here again in after about an hour. She mentioned she was going to scrub him up and take away his physique. She shut down the digital camera, and the display went darkish.”
