Bobcaygeon Swing Bridge reopening pushed for fall 2022: Parks Canada – Peterborough

“Parks Canada was recently informed by the contractor that the construction progress of the mechanical components for the bridge had been slower than expected and resulted in further delays in the progress of the renovation project,” said Parks. Canada stated.

Parks Canada said that over the next few months, lock-related electrical and hydraulic work will be carried out and completed in time for the marine season.

Parks Canada stated: “The design and re-engineering of the mechanical components for the bridge continues outside. “Components are expected to arrive at the site during the spring and summer of 2022, at which point they will be installed.”

While the installation of the component is underway, the remainder of the bridge work can continue with the goal of late summer or early fall and the bridge will be open to traffic in the fall after testing is complete. .
