The Wall Street Journal’s Report on Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick brought new allegations, led to a new employee roam, and led to several mitigation efforts by repeating the recently stated zero-tolerance policy and list of proposed reforms in the hope of overcoming the lawsuits, damages, and rest of the charges that had surfaced up to that point.

The company’s board of directors referred to the zero-tolerance policy with a statement expressing confidence in Kotick and a decision standing behind him as the company seeks to make those changes. Now WSJ has a new report claims that Kotick told senior company officials in a meeting on Friday that he would consider leaving if the company couldn’t turn the tide fast enough.

In the statement, he also apologized for the handling of reported incidents. The board is looking to form a “workplace excellence committee” to begin implementing and taking steps in announcing the zero-tolerance policy. However, the board does not appear to be planning any investigation into Kotick’s conduct, which seems consistent with their claims to be behind him.

This comes many expressed concern and many others signed the petition to remove him, but he remains in his position at this time, possibly in the hope of emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy and hopefully completing the proposed settlement. with the EEOC if the court permits. Leaving the door open is something but it is no accident, and if the board continues to be on his side, this could be a game of waiting.

Of course, if Activision Blizzard manages to turn around company culture, hiring practices, and fair handling of worker requirements, that would be a great start. The company’s stock price fell from $70 last Monday before the report was released, to $61 today. Both fell from a high of more than $104 in February.
