Boba Fett’s Book: Is Cobb Vanth Dead or Alive?

In the latest episode of Books by Boba Fett, is Cobb Vanth dead or alive? The Marshal played by Timothy Olyphant was established in the continuum after Return of the Jedi in Disney’s books before appearing as Boba Fett’s armor holder in The Mandalorian Part 1, before appearing again in The Book of Boba Fett episode 6 – only to be shot in a duel. Is Cobb Vanth still alive in Book of Boba Fett or is he really dead?

Did Cobb Vanth die in the Book of Boba Fett?

It is possible that Cobb Vanth is still alive in The Book of Boba Fett after the duel with notorious bounty hunter Cad Bane (Corey Burton). Though his fate still seems to be uncertain, Vanth was shot only once in the shoulder and the people of Freetown immediately rushed to his aid. Vanth’s lieutenant wasn’t so lucky and must have died after being shot multiple times by Cad Bane.

It seems likely that Cobb Vanth will return in The Book of Boba Fett episode 7, where he’ll be more willing to help Boba Fett and The Mandalorian knocks the Pyke Syndicate out of Tatooine – since they’re the ones who hired Cad Bane out Vanth, as punishment for Cobb’s meddling with a spice deal earlier in episode 6.

For Cad Bane himself, after being heavily rumored for the series Gunman-like bounty hunter made his live-action debut after His previous appearance in the animated series The Bad Batch – where he fights with Book of Boba Fett’s Fennic Shand (Ming-Na Wen). It’s reasonable to assume that both Cad Bane and Cobb Vanth will return in the next episode.
