Blizzard’s Jessica Gonzalez Resigns, Addresses Bobby Kotick for Denial of Accountability

Employees at Activision Blizzard are still standing firm and demanding changes, including leadership changes and sacked CEO Bobby Kotick. Today, senior test analyst Jessica Gonzalez announced that she has resigned from Blizzard and fully accepts a better opportunity to develop the game outside.

In her resignation statement, she regrets not being able to meet her colleagues under better circumstances but spoke positively about “our shared vision of diversity, equity, inclusion and the rights of employees with me and appreciate the work we’ve done during my time here.” These comments come at a time when things are still tense, like Activision Blizzard stands for Bobby Kotick after releasing a Wall Street Journal investigative article Allegations that he was aware of various abuses at the company and even committed some of them, followed by larger appeals against him.

She re-emphasized that there is still a lot of work to be done to make Activision Blizzard a better company, and that the road to change continues to be exhausting for a lot of people. She tagged and directly mentioned Kotick in her resignation, saying, “Your failure to act and refuse to take responsibility is driving great talent and products down. until you are removed from the position of CEO. This may seem harsh but you years to fix culture and look where the company stands now.” She signed her letter with “Every Voice Matters” and her post was shared by the organization A Better ABK which represents workers who want better conditions at the company.

Things have been relatively quiet over the past week or so, with the company giving a week off for Thanksgiving instead of just a few days, a move some have criticized as an attempt to defuse the allegations and continue.
