Blizzard is giving away Overwatch 2 Reaper skin and double XP weekends to make up for launch issues

It’s time for more news on that one game we’re happily complaining about right now, and that’s – obviously – surveillance 2.
After a rocky start that consisted of overloaded servers, a controversial SMS protection system, multiple DDoS attacks, and many other bugs, Blizzard is trying to make amends by offering players a digital goodybag.
Even then, this digital goodybag certainly hits the mark when it comes to making amends with gamers. In a recent tweet on the Overwatch account, Blizzard said, “When the launch of #Overwatch2 is bumpy, you make it up to the players. In addition to bug fixes and stabilization advances, we have goodies to share with all players.”

And what does this goody bag contain? A health pack weapon tag and the Cursed Captain Reaper skin. That’s it. Overwatch 2 players will also be inducted 2x Match XP weekendsbut is it really Blizzard’s idea to apologize to its players?
Overwatch 2 players had to deal with queues of up to 40,000 players and server disruptions at launch. Some players could not access the game due to using VOIP or prepaid phones and some of those who were able to get into games still found majority of their characters blocked.
The lucky few who managed to get into games without being overly affected by any of these issues would then have to deal with things like a broken Bastion Ultimate or a broken Tord kit; Both heroes have since been temporarily removed from the game.
I’m not saying Overwatch 2 players are more entitled to an apology from Blizzard than they are to a weapon charm and cosmetics for a hero (we could have at least gotten a Mercy skin, c’mon), but it’s probably the least Blizzard could do. Double XP weekends are going to be fun and all, but given the terrible progression in the game right now (you would currently have to play 260 weeks or spend £130 to have all of Kiriko’s cosmetics), I don’t see it all making that much of a difference .
