A Grand Theft Auto: Trilogy players rediscover a fun old bug that remains in the game after the horribly flawed remake of the collection.
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Final Edition didn’t exactly have a perfect debut. The faulty remake has faced harsh criticism for Its ugly character model, unexpected changes, many bugs and significant performance issues.
With such a pathetic launch, it’s no surprise that someone found another bug in the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Final Edition. Specifically, a glitch in the fix Grand Theft Auto 3 allows the player to stretch their car to absurd proportions.
Reddit user stack413 discovered the bug and posted a clip of it on r/GamePhysics. If the player wobbles their car back and forth while driving, it will cause the vehicle to stretch to absurd levels. As the clip shows, it takes less than 30 seconds to turn the player’s small sedan into an ugly giant and run on the road.
It might be more accurate to say that stack413 has re-detected the glitch since it was present in the original Grand Theft Auto 3. However, that makes The final version look even worse. That means not only is Grove Street Games rolling out new bugs, but the studio is also failing to fix known, pre-existing issues. Of course, that’s not surprising because the studio Can’t delete some unwanted files for GTA San Andreas, Among other things.
The absurd error left many commenters wondering how such a thing could have happened. It turns out that the 3D model of the car changes scale as the player rotates. It has to make turns appear more natural and realistic. However, swaying the car back and forth causes the game to forget to scale it back. Notably, the error only exists with the car in the clip and a few other similar models. So the player can’t just jump into any vehicle and make it gigantic in size.
Unfortunately, and not surprisingly, the auto expansion is not the only one poor rating Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Final Edition appeared on r/GamePhysics. Another recent post shows a police car twirling through the sky after a collision. The second clip shows a jet jet plunging into solid air above a suspension bridge.
The third saw a speedboat rocket into the stratosphere before making a perfect landing in a narrow canal. Browsing through the subreddit for a few minutes also discovered many other examples of The final version of Physics engine malfunction.
Most of these glitches are more fun than annoying. However, they serve to illustrate the extent of the disaster Triangle Re-release has been so far. Then again, Other Definitive Edition issues could have clarified all that on their own.
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Final Edition currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
Netflix’s Don’t Look Up features an all-star cast of characters who couldn’t be more interested in a giant comet heading toward Earth.
