In 2000, Inouye listed Barr as a co-author on a piece of paper “First, the climate is changing, and second, it’s affecting the plants and animals there,” says Inouye. In 2012, Barr was a co-author on paper by Inouye and others predict broad-tailed hummingbirds could arrive by 2033 after an important source of nectar, glacier lily flowers bloom earlier over time because of climate change.
