Billionaire investor Robert F. Smith59 years old, is racing to own the Denver Broncos football team. Most importantly, he could become the first black person in history to buy an NFL franchise. According to reports, the team will gross about $4 billion, making it the richest franchise in US sports history.

His Fund II aims to “perpetuate the African-American experience.” The charity has donated nearly $250 to The United Negro College Fund, NPower, and The Opportunity Network.

Robert F. Smith founded Vista Equity Partners, a private equity firm, in 2000. Today, the company is worth $86 billion.

To catch the Denver Broncos, blacksmith would need to put down a minimum of $1.2 billion.
