Bill Cosby’s trends after being quoted by supporter Kyle Rittenhouse in viral video

Bill Cosby has kept pretty quiet since his release from prison after his sexual assault conviction was overturned. So he must have been as surprised as everyone else to see his name trending on Twitter today for something he hasn’t even done.

on November 18, News2Share Editor-in-Chief Ford Fisher posted a video Social media showed a man protesting outside Kyle Rittenhouse’s trial. In it, the man says the N word before claiming to quote Cosby. “Why don’t black people stop beating their kids, stop talking shit**ker, and stop calling each other n*****r?”

You can check out the video, which has now gone viral, below.

Although we were unable to find the source of this quote, Cosby has previously expressed some of the same controversial opinions in what is now known as “Pound Cake Speech. Cosby gave a speech during the NAACP Legal Defense Fund’s award ceremony in Washington, DC in 2004. The speech was heavily criticized by the Black community in the United States despite the man’s line. The “quote” in the video is not that word.

Many people were outraged by the video, in which one user wondered how the man in it was “not being spanked”.

Another user pointed out the possibility of irony when someone uses Bill Cosby as a moral compass.

Another user suggested that the only reason Cosby’s name is trending is “he is either recaptured or unless he gets off this mortal plane.”

Another user used an SNL sketch to point out how mythic it is for Cosby and OJ Simpson to be trending at the same time, given that they are both Blacks with serious charges.

When Bill Cosby he himself has not commented publicly on the trial in any way, many other celebrities have chosen to do so including Marvel stars Mark Ruffalo and Dave Bautista.
