Bilibili Gaming’s new lineup beat Weibo Gaming in LPL debut

LPL’s match of the week between Weibo Gaming and Bilibili Gaming marked the end of the first week of domestic competition. While WBG’s record was 1-1, BLG debuted its brand new roster with a win. Defeating WBG 2-1, BLG started the LPL campaign on the right foot.

Game one was a battle of killer junglers, with Weiwei’s Talon pick ahead of SofM’s Zed. TheShy became an early target for aggression, giving away a few early kills to give BLG the lead. Through neutral objective controls, Weibo keeps the game competitive and continues to build as a threat at scale.

Conquer all dragons, a final fight in the pit broke Weibo open game is over. Weibo’s growing threats to Viktor and Gwen led the fray, not only winning the teamfight but also capturing Dragon Soul and Baron to cement their lead. Against the efforts of the two solo laners, WBG won the first game of the series.

Early game two was similarly characterized by Weiwei’s initiative, allowing for a top lane gank once again. Both BLG’s side lanes created significant advantages as the bot lane duo of Doggo and Crisp also managed to get a few wins in teamfights.

Win on all lanes, BLG’s concerted effort produced a 2,000 gold lead in 15 minutes, that just snowballed at 8,000 to the end of the game. In the most thrilling match of the series, BLG fixed the score 1-1.

WBG took the lead in the series for the first time in game three, finding success again on neutral goal control. BLG returned to the series with some light wins, despite messy jungle fights. Catch the WBG in the Baron pit, BLG found an unlikely fight quickly turned into a race for relationships.

Without LPL star player Uzi, BLG has shown that the team can still win even without this massive threat. While it’s unclear when Uzi will debut on the roster and mark his official return to the LPL, BLG can be pleased with their first win of 2022.
