Biden announces new travel restrictions in response to new COVID variant

The Delta variant of COVID-19 may have disappeared, but another variant of the virus has taken its place.
This new variant, dubbed “Omicron” by World Health Organization officials, has sprung up in South Africa in recent weeks, according to the report. Fox News.
For this reason, on Friday, President Joe Biden announced his administration would impose new travel restrictions on the South African country.
Interestingly, many prominent members of the media and Democrats – including Biden himself – used to hint that former President Donald Trump’s travel ban on China is racist.

“The news of this new variant will make it clearer than ever why this pandemic won’t end until we have universal vaccinations,” Biden continued.
