BGIS 2021 – New schedule announced by Krafton

Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 (BGIS) Announced on 15NS July earlier this year, experienced some major delays but is about to return once again. Krafton appeared yesterday on the 23rdrd November to emphasize that registrations for the tournament, still ongoing, will close on Sunday, 28NS November 2021.

Finally, after more than four months, registration for the tournament will come to an end, when BGIS 2021 proceeds with the actual competition. Phase 1 of the tournament is scheduled to start at 4NS December, ending on 16NS January 2022 with the grand final.

The complete schedule of BGIS 2021 has been provided below along with the original schedule of the tournament whereby the BGIS 2021 champion was crowned on the 10th.NS October.

BGIS 2021 Update new schedule: Full information

Initially, registration for BGIS 2021 was scheduled to be implemented from 19NS July to the 2ndNS Next August the tournament is all set to be played between 2NS August to OctoberNS October 2021. However, at the end of July Krafton was decided to extend the registration period so players will have more time to team up and register their team.

Although the subscription date was extended, Krafton did not provide a new date or schedule at the time. The match date has been moved without any news on the event date. Not even any reason was given to postpone the entire tournament for more than two months.

So, quite surprised when Krafton suddenly announced the last registration date is 28NS November, followed by the full schedule for BGIS 2021 as follows,

This is the new schedule of BGIS 2021, running from 4NS December 2021 to the end of 16NS January 2022, when Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) champion is crowned for the first time.

Information about the different stages of the tournament is as follows:

  • Qualifiers in the game (4NS up to 8NS December 2021)

    This will be the first phase of the tournament that will see all registered teams compete in in-game ranked matches alongside their teammates.

    Teams will be required to play a total of 15 matches against their registered teammates, however, only the first 10 will be considered for evaluation and scoring respectively.

    In the event of a tie, certain parameters like finish, survival time, accuracy, etc. will be taken into consideration to rank a team. In total, the top 1024 BGMI teams will qualify for the next round.

  • Online Qualifier (16 .)NS up to 30NS December 2021)

    The 1024 qualified BGMI teams will then compete in a nearly month-long online qualifier. From here, only 64 teams will advance to the next round.

  • Quarterfinals (2 .)NS up to 5NS January 2022)

    64 teams will be fighting hard in this round as things start to get serious, as only 24 teams advance in the tournament.

  • Semi-finals (7NS up to 10NS January 2022)

    With the most competitive teams remaining in the tournament, from here on out, only the final 16 teams will qualify to advance to the Finals.

  • Overall Final (13 .)NS up to 16NS January 2022)

    The final 16 teams will battle each other over the last 4 days of the event to claim the country’s first Battlegrounds Mobile India championship.
