Bernie Sanders Welcomes Arizona Democrat Kyrsten Sinema’s Censorship

Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) wholeheartedly agree on Sunday with Arizona Democrats Decide to Test Sen. Kyrsten Sinema .’s Criticism Center after Arizona legislators voted against weakening the filtering system to pass voting rights legislation.

Cinema, along with fellow moderate Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV), are the only two Democrats to join all 50 Republican senators in maintaining the reflection last week. With Sinema’s vote preventing an expanded bill that would protect the right to vote from passing, the Democratic executive of her home state took action against her.

“[O]n matters of relevance and urgency to protect the right to vote, we have been clear … and the division of not passing federal law protecting their right to vote is too great and far-reaching,” Arizona party chairman Raquel Terán wrote in a statement announcing Sinema’s censorship.

Joining Sunday news talk shows, Sanders lamented that Manchin and Sinema were on Republican “obstructionism” on the Biden administration’s agenda while touting the popularity of President Joe Biden’s spending and social proposals.

“All of those pieces of legislation are very popular, the entire bill, and the president deserves credit for seeing the real problems facing this country,” NBC’s independent statement said. Meet the press. “But what we have is obstructionism from 50 Republicans, two Democrats.”

Sanders added: “What we have to do now is get the problem out to the American people. And if Republicans want to vote against lowering prescription drug prices, they want to keep tax breaks for the rich, let them vote that way. Let the American people see what’s going on.”

Meet the press Meanwhile, moderator Chuck Todd wondered if the Democrats “highlighted divisions within the party,” “quoting specifically Sinema’s recent criticism.

“Do you think that’s an appropriate course of action?” Todd pressed Sanders.

“Yeah I do. I think that’s absolutely right,” the self-described democratic socialist shot back. anything else.” The Vermont senator further noted that the GOP is now “perpetuating this ‘big lie’ that” former President Donald Trump did indeed win the 2020 presidential election, warning that Republicans are on “conducted very actively in voter suppression” in states across the country.

He continued: “Some states are removing the powers of independent election officials. “They are moving in a very, very anti-democratic way. And we absolutely have to change the rules so that we can pass strong voting rights legislation.”

Calling the film’s failure to change the rules “a terrible, terrible vote,” Sanders reiterated his belief that “what the Arizona Democrats did was absolutely right.”

Also, when asked by Todd if Biden can count on his vote in the Senate regarding “any compromise” reached with Manchin on spending laws, Sanders flatly refused.

“Absolutely not,” he blurted out. “You will have to see what the so-called compromise is. If it’s powerful, if it protects the needs of the people who work, if it solves the climate problem, then I’m there. But we have to look at the details of any proposal.”

In a separate interview on CNN’s State of the Union Meanwhile, on Sunday morning, the left-wing senator also made it clear that he would be ready to campaign against Manchin and Sinema in their home states in the upcoming elections.

“They have to come 2024,” he told host Dana Bash. “But if there are strong candidates in those states who are ready to stand up for working families, those who understand that the Democrats must become the party of the working people, take on great monetary benefits, if those candidates are in Arizona and West. Virginia, yes, I’m happy to support them. ”
