Bergdorf Goodman’s holiday campaign inspired by Wes Anderson

Wes Anderson is the inspiration behind Bergdorf Goodman’s new holiday campaign, Present moment. Created in partnership with French Dispatch, Anderson’s Latest Movie Starring Timothée Chalamet, Benicio Del Toro, Frances McDormand, Bill Murray, and Tilda Swinton, the director’s distinctive aesthetic is reflected in the eyes of the luxury retailer.

Developed and directed by Elle Strauss, Bergdorf Goodman’s Vice President of Creative and Brand Marketing, short film Present moment Follows a mysterious courier who travels the store in search of the perfect holiday gift.

The film stars some of the biggest names in fashion including Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Waris Ahluwalia, Sergio Hudson, Emily Bode, Christopher John Rogers, and Linda Fargo, who dress best for the season as they stop on every floor of the department store.

“I have always been fascinated by Wes’ aesthetic and color. There are a lot of similarities, especially with so many of his other films set in New York, but also Grand Budapest Hotel. This is a picture of Fiennes ralph in the elevator with Tilda Swinton and the BG feeling was beautiful because there was that purple color and we’re obviously known for purples and lavenders. And I thought, I think this elevator could stop at any floor and could represent what we’re going through in the holidays for the moment, but also encapsulate things pretty nicely because we have a lot to offer,” said Strauss Vanity Fair.

After her CFDA win, Bode, who appeared in position with the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon, her one year old named Monday, explained how much that part of the movie meant to her. “It is lovely to see an organization in New York City like Bergdorf Goodman pay their respects to the wonderful Wes Anderson. This film shares the magic and traditions of the holiday season,” she said.
