On Thursday, The Athletic’s Sam Amick report that Philadelphia 76ers had a list of about 30 players who made the difference which they considered an acceptable profit in one Ben Simmons trades, but it’s not entirely clear which players are actually on that list. Amick’s name Damian Lillard, Bradley Beal and James Harden, and now, Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer not only confirmed Philadelphia’s interest in Harden, but added that Jerami Grant is another player the 76ers are targeting.

Pompey reported that the 76ers spoke to Piston about a deal involving Grant, a youngster, another striker and a draft pick. Kelly Olynyk match the bill as another term and Saddiq Bey would meet Philadelphia’s interest in a young player, but sources told Pompey that Detroit is reluctant to bring either man in. For what it’s worth, a source close to the situation denied Grant’s report to CBS Sports and added that the Sixers are not interested in Grant as a return to Simmons, and there are no negotiations. what is going on between the two teams.

Harden is exactly the kind of traditional star defender Philadelphia has been looking for. The 76ers tried to trade for him last season, and team president Daryl Morey let Harden be his franchise player as he ran Houston Rockets. Multiple reports have now suggested that Philadelphia is interested in reuniting the couple. On paper, that seems unlikely. Harden got the deal he wanted. He’s playing for a championship contender with brooklyn network. But he could become a free agent this season, and he has yet to sign a contract extension.

All signs point to a new deal in Brooklyn, but if a deal doesn’t materialize, Philadelphia seems convinced it will be at the top of Harden’s wish list. However, the 76ers will need Brooklyn’s cooperation in the signing and sale of Simmons, which they may not see as a competitor in the conference, and they will also have to navigate the hard limit of triggering whenever A team acquires a player through a sign -and trade. Do so with three maximum contracts, as Philadelphia will have to do with Harden, Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris on the book, it will be difficult.

For now, there doesn’t seem to be any end to the Simmons story. There doesn’t seem to be a single player that meets Philadelphia’s lofty requirements. With no clear deal ahead, it could be a while before we see Simmons on a NBA court again. Ben Simmons Trade Rumors: 76 People Interested in James Harden, Jerami Grant, Per Report
