SPRING
Just like in real life, you can sprint on a Mountain Bike by trying to make to press the A (Xbox & Stadia) / Χ (Playstation) button multiple times to cycle faster. Being accelerated makes it easier for you to reach your maximum sprint speed. Higher mining speed increases sprint speed.
RUN
Alternatively, you can test your BMX skills by jumping with Mountain Bikes. Holding the LB (Xbox & Stadia) / L1 (Playstation) button longer (up to half a second) will increase the jump height. High speed and boosted also increase jump height.
WHEEL
We lovers do not go on two wheels. We don’t see the need to use all the wheels because it’s not fun! One, that’s right, one wheel is all we need. Try to find the perfect balance by holding down the “sprint” button and tapping the “jump” to the rhythm to find the crazy man inside of you.
WEAPON BALANCE UPDATE
As a battle royale game where each match presents different scenarios, we believe each weapon should have its purpose in certain types of encounters. Based on our data findings and community feedback, we’ve made changes to the weapon balance.
P90
- The P90 is killing the most weapons of any Crate weapon and is doing better across the ranges where we want Crate ARs to dominate. So we decided to increase the recoil difficulty while providing less ammo.
- Increased horizontal and vertical recoil
- Increase ADS deviation during fully automatic continuous shooting
- Lowered Care ammo from 250 -> 200 bullets
SHOTGUNS
- Shotguns in Battlegrounds continue to have a very limited role as seen in our data, to improve their usability we are increasing the effective range.
- Increased damage reduction range to improve effective range by several meters for each shotgun
- Increase the probability of hitting the target in short range
- Increases saw damage by 1
- Reduced spread of sawed pellets
LMGS
- Overall, LMGs aren’t considered useful enough based on our data, so we’re increasing their damage slightly to improve the weapon’s role. For the MG3, we see very little use of our data compared to other barrel weapons, so we’re making it even more powerful. Also, some time ago we reduced the effectiveness of M249 on Console. Now we see that that power reduction has had too much of an effect and so we are changing its recoil to the state between the current iteration and the previous iteration.
- Reduced recoil when shooting in crouching and standing positions
- Body damage multiplier increased from 1.0 to 1.05
- Increases M249 damage by 1
- Reduced horizontal and vertical recoil for M249
- Increases MG3 damage by 2
- MG3 horizontal recoil reduction
SMGS
- While some players feel that SMGs have a solid position due to their relatively low recoil, we still see in the data that their role in weapon balancing is very limited. To encourage more accurate shooting, we’re increasing the head damage multiplier.
- Head damage multiplier increased from 1.8 to 2.1
- Increased accuracy of PP-19 Bizon weapon when firing full auto ADS
- UMP45 damage reduction at longer range
- Reduced accuracy of UMP45 weapons when firing full auto ADS
AUG
- The AUG seems to be overtaken by the P90 and even the user’s ability to control Beryl, so we’re making it a bit more powerful to improve its Crate weapon health.
- Increases damage by 1
- Increased damage reduction range to improve effective range
BALANCE MAGAZINE
Based on our data over the years, we find that the magazines in PUBG are not very well balanced. Extended QuickDraw magazines offer a clear upgrade over Extended and QuickDraw journals. QuickDraw magazines are often left aside and players don’t even bother to pick them up despite their advantage of having no magazines attached at all.
We’ve edited our journal attachments to add tactical decision-making capabilities and improve the usefulness of QuickDraw and Extended Journal. Any magazine attachments will now be useful and give their own style of play.
If you want up to 60% faster reloads, get QuickDraw Magazine. If you want the highest magazine capacity, get Extended Magazine. If you want a little bit of both, get the Extended QuickDraw Magazine.
Example when applied to M416:
- Default magazine: 30 bullets
- QuickDraw Magazine: 30 bullets and 60% faster reload
- Enlarged magazine: 42 bullets
- Expanded QuickDraw Magazine: 40 bullets and 15% faster reload
DIAGRAM
- We have added the QuickDraw Magazine Attachment to Skorpion.
WORLD UPDATE
UPDATE SANHOK
- As one of the most attractive drop off areas in Sanhok, Bootcamp will be able to provide a dynamic gaming experience. But we’ve heard that our players don’t like the remade Bootcamp because the structure feels too crowded and complicated for the desired tactical play. So we decided to make Bootcamp go through another major change and the best way to go about it is to change the entire structure. Here are some of the key changes:
- To reduce the complexity and tight feel of the Bootcamp, the center tower has been repositioned from the center to the right. We then considered different angles and distances and adjusted the layout of other buildings around the central area to create an open space for better shooting.
- Players seemed to have too much advantage behind the balustrade walls on the third floor of the central tower so we removed them and placed stone boxes on the roofs instead.
- We also narrowed the space between the second and third floors to lessen the advantage of players on the third floor.
- We realized that the large windows on the second floor of the central tower allow players to have a wide view of the surroundings, resulting in frequent camping. Thus, we have reduced the size of the windows.
- Training areas have been added and are scattered around the center as well to provide additional hiding and looting spots.
- We’ve moved the watchtowers to place one each on the north and south side to prevent players from hoarding them.
- Players didn’t seem to have the best chance as they landed a bit late on Bootcamp. As a result, we’ve removed the 4 warehouses in Bootcamp and added 3 more in the North (outside of Bootcamp) so that even players who start late can earn a better chance at gearing and hiding.
BEACH ROAD
- The player felt vulnerable around the seaside area so more rocks and trees were added.
- Weather
- The lighting and weather effects in Sanhok seem to be obstructing the player’s in-game vision, so we:
- Increase brightness by 25% for Cloudy and Sunset weather.
- Shadow reduction from 66% → 33% when it changes to Fog / Rain in overcast weather.
- The lighting and weather effects in Sanhok seem to be obstructing the player’s in-game vision, so we:
UPDATE VIKENDI
- PUBG’s new partnership is with KAKAO FRIENDS!
- More information on this partnership will be updated in a separate announcement on the date the Live Server is updated.
- Dinoland has turned into KAKAO FRIENDS LAND.
- KAKAO FRIENDS statues have been placed here and there in KAKAO FRIENDS LAND.
- Billboard for KAKAO FRIENDS has been added.
- The buildings have been decorated with KAKAO FRIENDS ornaments.
CHRISTMAS
- The Christmas theme has been applied to Dinoland, Castle and Winery.
- Christmas weather has been added.
- Players can use this weather setting in Custom Matches for Vikendi.
