Battlefield 2042 update brings Portal and Scoreboard changes

Battlefield 2042The February update brings changes to the Portal mode and a redesign of the Scoreboard user interface. A Twitter thread on the official Battlefield account detailed some of these changes along with the announcement of tomorrow’s update. Updates 3.2 and 3.3 offer “several bug fixes and improvements to the game, with a focus on stability.” These updates will address many of the criticisms that have been hit by the game since its release in November 2021.

Unfortunately, Battlefield 2042 have had a pretty tough time the past few months. With the usual hiccups to be expected for multiplayer-focused games, as well as other issues causing the game to stop working, that’s certainly fraught. DICE worked hard to bring Battlefield 2042 up to a higher standard, even if ‘brutal’ fan expectations.

A good step forward for Battlefield 2042

Update 3.2 is expected to roll out tomorrow. DICE also released a Full list of patch notes to go with it. The update mainly includes essential performance improvements and bug fixes. The list isn’t all-encompassing, but it’s a step in the right direction Battlefield 2042.

Update 3.3 brings more to the table and releases sometime mid to late February. The first thing to note here are the changes to the game’s Portal mode. Currently, Portal does not reward players with XP for unlocking in-game items. However, with Update 3.3, players will finally be able to get XP in this mode.

Soon, however, players will be able to accurately see the performance of both themselves and all other players during a match. The example images released by DICE are still under development and subject to further changes. It’s a rather small addition to the grand scheme of things, but again, it’s a good step forward in making the game a more enjoyable experience. Details of other additions in the update are currently unknown, but patch notes will be available upon release.

DICE has a lot of terrible stuff on its plate right now, which also includes trying fix the problem has been and is affecting Star Wars: Battle 2.
