Battlefield 2042 launches in full amid a whirlwind of bad reviews

Battlefield 2042 Tornado

The new Battlefield 2042 is now officially launched, after a early access week for pre-orders. Featuring 128-player epic battles across massive PC player maps, Xbox Series X | S and PlayStation 5 (and slightly smaller battles and maps on Xbox One and PS4), and Battle Portal, allowing players to customize their experience and create the battlefield of their dreams – or nightmares.

The game’s plot revolves around a conflict in the near future – in the year 2042, shockingly enough – where “the world powers of the United States and Russia are in conflict, while refugees from the nations are in conflict. fall known as the No Patriots (‘No -Pats’) struggle to survive.” Unlike previous Class-based Battlefields, 2042’s story is told through the eyes of 10 experts, each with their own style. Unique fighting style and customizable weapons.

In addition to the All-Out Warfare and Portal modes mentioned earlier, Battlefield 2042 also offers Danger area, where the player needs to find and extract sensitive data, taking it from opponents by force if the need arises. Dynamic storms and environmental hazards make matches more unpredictable.

However, many of the changes to this year’s version of Battlefield didn’t go well with players. On steam, the game currently has only 22% positive reviews, mostly coming from early access players in the past week. Many negative reviews complain about the class/expert system, game balance, poor counter registration, progress, stats, etc. While some of them are things that could be done. added in the latter, some, like the pros, are deep elements of the core game that wouldn’t be modifiable without a major remake.

Also, really, we shouldn’t be making excuses for poor mechanics, optimizations, and bugs from a fully launched, $60 (or more, depending on your version) game. There are a lot of “feels like a beta” comments among the reviews, and if that’s the case, it shouldn’t be up for grabs. However, as we all know, the holiday marketing campaign slows down for no one.
