While you can read the full patch notes for the Battlefield 2042 4.0 update from a blog post on the game’s official website, it’s a very long read given the sheer amount of tweaking. . As such, here are some highlights:

It made some updates after the launch of Battlefield 2042 in early October 2021, but this patch finally adds the much-requested VoIP functionality. With the in-game voice chat feature unavailable from the start, players had to use other programs like Discord to communicate with their teammates.

In addition to adding Scoreboards at the end of the round and some changes to weapon attachments that set them apart from each other, the pros have been making some balance adjustments. Electrical engineer Navin Rao and scouting specialist Paik have reworked some of their Features. The car has also been tweaked; for example, the M5C Bolte has weakened its missile launcher and its passengers are easier to target.

On top of that, EA fixed an issue where players could not be revived if they were too close to objects or ADS after exiting the vehicle. Damage assist now activates from a lower damage threshold, and helping teammates kill enemies by deploying smoke gives you kill assist points. The ribbon is also easier to unlock across all game modes.

Fans reacting to the patch notes on the Battlefield 2042 Reddit are more or less grateful for the fixes, with some players hoping to be able to re-enter the game. But for many, this update was “too little, too late”, with some players still wanting changes to target support and overall game performance. Some felt that all of these fixes just proved that Battlefield 2042 wasn’t ready to go when it was.

That said, the developers are scheduling another update in May and promise additional bug fixes and quality of life changes.

In other news, Elden Ring 1.04 update has been released with a focus on power-based builds, and No More Heroes 3 has received a release window for non-Switch consoles.
