Baby Brandon Cuellar was kidnapped by a Stranger right under his grandmother’s nose in San Jose

A manhunt is underway in California after a stranger abducted a 3-month-old baby while the child’s grandmother was unloading groceries from her car.

The horrific kidnapping of Brandon Cuellar happened Monday afternoon in San Jose. Police have released video footage of a suspect carrying an infant’s car seat, with a white blanket covering it.

San Jose Police Sgt. Christian Camarillo said at a press conference that the kidnapping happened within minutes.

“[The grandmother] When she arrived at this apartment, she carried the baby in the apartment, went downstairs to unload some groceries.

“During that short period of time, someone entered the apartment and left with the baby.”

Brandon’s mother has gone to work and his father is in prison. The family did not recognize the suspect wearing a hat and mask.

Police said the man did not appear disheveled and they did not believe he was a vagabond. They don’t have footage of any of his cars disappearing and don’t issue an Amber Alert.

Investigators said the FBI was called in but urged the public to keep an eye on Brandon, who was wearing a white, dinosaur-patterned shirt.

“Someone is walking with a 3-month-old that they didn’t have yesterday,” Camarillo said.

“It was a very devastating time for the family,” he added.
