A writer for ‘The Atlantic’ magazine wrote an article giving readers advice on how to “deprogram” their conservative relatives. Writer Molly Jong-Fast continues to paint conservative family members as “scary” above many other terrible things.
Towards the end of the article, she even threw up the idea of reporting their loved one to the FBI. Some people might think it’s a joke, but it’s what’s really happening across America.
“This is your chance to deprogram them. Facebook knows its algorithm thoroughly users. This is your chance to tell your aunt that maybe the news she’s received isn’t all that reliable. And maybe MAGA news network didn’t give her unbiased news,” she writes.
Jong-Fast rejects the idea that Thanksgiving should be a time of peace and harmony. Instead, she thinks her readers should turn the day into an opportunity to tell their “scary uncle” to get vaccinated.
“I’m here to tell you Thanksgiving is horrible, and if you at least spend some time trying to program your niece, you won’t feel bored or depressed (although you may be angry). angry because Fox News or Infowars convinced her Trump could “Save America” from Joe Biden’s radical agenda of giving everyone hearing aids and free pre-K).
“Especially when it comes to vaccines,” she continued. “You Can Really Save Your Creepy Uncle’s Life”
She ended with a snarky suggestion to report their family members to the authorities because of their political beliefs.
“Perhaps it won’t work. Maybe you’ll split your Thanksgiving dinner as you sat at the table 5 hours ago and 4,000 calories. Or maybe you will plant the seed, sowing a little doubt about whatever Tucker Carlson is saying now. Maybe you will even change a heart or a mind. Maybe you’ll lower the temperature a bit. Or maybe you will need to report a relative to the FBI, “She added.
