Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Update Requires full game re-download

Ubisoft is doing a ‘data restructuring’ on Assassin’s Creed Valhalla that will save players tens of GBs of space, but there’s a hitch.
An important new update is coming Assassin’s Creed Valhalla early to prepare for some DLC in the upcoming second year of the game. The good news is that the main focus of the update is on making Assassin’s Creed Valhallafile size is significantly smaller on all supported platforms. The bad news is that to do so, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will force the player to download the entire game at the new file size.
That’s right, patch 1.4.1 of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will force the player to re-download the entire game to take up less storage space. Players will trade limited monthly download space and bandwidth for more storage space on their PC or console. That’s because to Assassin’s Creed Valhallafile size to make it smaller, the developers had to do a “data refactoring”. It’s simply not possible to just shrink an existing game. It must be replaced.
While the storage space that Ubisoft will save Assassin’s Creed Valhalla The player count is substantial, it’s still going to be a pretty big game overall. Disk space used after 1.4.1 update will be 77GB on PC, 75GB on PS4, 77GB on PS5, 63GB on Xbox One and 72GB on Xbox Series X / WILL. For the most part, downloads will be about the same size, although the PS5 download will only be 40GB since it’s already prepped for these changes.
However, compared to the previous file sizes, the new sizes are significant. The PC will reclaim 34GB of space, while the PS4 and PS5 will reclaim 30GB and 13GB, respectively. Xbox One also gets 30GB back, but the real winner will be Xbox Series X Platform / WILL. These two consoles will reclaim 44GB of space, which should be enough to hold several other games.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Players will ask why this is necessary. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla After all, it’s more than a year old now. It is not clear why this is necessary. For starters, Ubisoft says the changes will result in faster load times, improved world data flow, and better overall performance. Also, Ubisoft will probably reuse that entire space, as they are planning second year of DLC for open world game.
For those who have one or both Assassin’s Creed Valhallaexpand the base of, Wrath of the Druids or Siege of Paris, patch 1.4.1 will also not affect. Download will be for base only Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The footprint of the extension will remain the same.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
