A’s starter Chris Bassitt takes line drive to head, leaves game


A scary second occurred in Chicago’s Assured Price Subject on Tuesday evening. Within the backside of the second inning, White Sox batter Brian Goodwin despatched a rocket towards the mound and A’s starter Chris Bassitt obtained hit with it within the facet of the top. 

The road drive was 100.1 miles per hour and most sadly it would not seem Bassitt obtained a glove on it. It wasn’t a glancing blow, both. It simply struck Bassitt squarely on the correct facet of the top, within the ear space (for these wishing to see it, there’s a Twitter video here). 

Within the smallest of small reliefs, it would not seem that Bassitt misplaced consciousness. He was transferring round, although not a lot and he by no means eliminated the towel from his head and/or face.

Bassitt, 32, entered the sport 12-3 with a 3.06 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 153 strikeouts in 150 innings.
