ArenaNet begins pre-testing for Guild Wars 2 WvW to determine if new beta starts this week

When it comes to improving the World versus World system, Guild Wars 2 have had a bumpy ride so far. With the first beta finished in just a few hours at the end of September, the team came back to explain what happened, the issues they still needed to work out, and had originally planned a new beta in November. then postponed due to backlog issue.
The ArenaNet team is ready to try again and today they are starting pre-tests to see if it can continue. From today to December 2, they will be running a pre-test build in the background of a regular WvW game. Players won’t notice any difference, but they’ll use the new build and live player data to see if they can continue. If everything looks fine, expect the next beta to happen December 3-10.
Today, November 30, through December 2 at 11:59 p.m. PT, you’ll select the Clan you’d like to combine for the beta event. Login and check the WvW board and make your clan selection. You can also choose to associate as an individual.
Just log in and play WvW as usual. The test is running in the background so players won’t notice any difference. WvW Refactoring will be enabled and they will match players with the new system built into the teams they have assigned in the World Link system. If testing of the new system works, they will continue with a new beta on Friday. If they need to rollback something and patch a fix, if possible or delay the next beta. Testing this way, on a large scale, will let them know and inform the community early on.
For more on this background test, see announcements in Guild Wars 2.
