Just over a year since Boba Fett’s revival in Mandalorian season two, Star Wars The galaxy’s most beloved bounty hunter is back with his starring vehicle in Books by Boba Fett, which premiered on Disney Plus today. Subsequent program on Mando The season-ending post-credits scene sees Fett (Temuera Morrison) take over the Tatooine criminal underworld with loyal right-hand woman Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) at her side. But what is the exact nature of the partnership between Boba and Fennec?

As we learned above Mandalorian, Fett discovered Shand after she was abandoned in the desert and saved her life, repairing her wounds with cybernetics. In return, Fennec vows lifelong loyalty to him, initially assisting Boba in his quest to retrieve his father’s armor and now assisting him in his hold on power. From the point of view of Wen, who previously reprized her role in Star Wars: The Bad Batch cartoon series – the couple’s relationship is rooted in “respect and honor” due to their shared bounty hunter code.

“I feel like [Fennec and Boba] bonded together because both of them have had near-death experiences,” On told Weekly entertainment in the first day of this month. “They are both bounty hunters, and they adhere to a certain degree of respect and honor. He saved her, and has a debt to pay, and bounty hunters honor that debt.”

As for Fett, he’s not known for his good deeds, so it’s intriguing that he saved Shand’s life in the first place. Apparently, he felt pity for her based on the fact that her own circumstances mirrored his own. Like Fennec, the fake clone was left to die in the Tatooine sands. The duo have a lot in common, including understanding and even affection for each other. However, so far, there is nothing clearly romantic about their relationship.

However, this can also change over time Books by Boba Fett, which promises to trigger Fett’s character more than we’ve ever seen. We’ll have to wait and see if love comes to these bounty hunters as the series resumes every Wednesday on Disney Plus. Are Boba Fett and Fennec Shand a couple?
