Apple is said to be once again working on an AirPower charger, long-range wireless charging

Like many products that were canceled near release, Apple’s AirPower charger is a legend that can’t die.
Announced in 2017, AirPower is a special pad designed to charge multiple devices without needing to plug them in. Unfortunately, the charging pad suffers from overheating problems, which is caused by the dense arrangement of the coils. Around this time last year, Apple decided abandoned idea, citing the fact that it cannot meet its own “high standards”.
In 2020, we hear that Apple is working on the project again.
AirPower isn’t dead yet?
The project is back up and running internally. There’s no guarantee they’ll finalize and release it, but they haven’t given up yet and they’re trying to redesign the coils for more efficient heat dissipation. Prototyping is underway.

That rumor didn’t appear much, but now a more reliable informant for Apple, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, also confirmed the project was revived.
The new device will support iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch as well.
However, Apple’s plans are even more ambitious, with the company working on “short and long-distance wireless charging devices,” including a future where all of its major devices will be charged. can charge each other. “Imagine an iPad charging an iPhone? and then the iPhone? Gurman added.
Apple’s ambitions seem to extend beyond reverse wireless charging, now ubiquitous in Android devices and in embryonic form in iPhones, that can swap out the wireless MagSafe battery.
It remains to be seen whether Apple’s plans perform better than the original AirPower, which in itself is far too ambitious.
