Respawn Entertainment details Mad Maggie’s passive, tactical, and ultimate abilities ahead of the launch of season 12 of Apex Legends.
Apex Legends recently confirmed that Mad Maggie, a war criminal in Fuse’s storyline, will appear in the games in Season 12. In the recent season 12 gameplay trailer and in a blog post from Respawn Entertainment, the company revealed that Mad Maggie was sentenced to death in Apex Games after a “quick and fair” trial. Now, not only have more stories about her backstory and connections to the games revealed, but her abilities as well.
Mad Maggie joins the growing list of Attack character in Apex Legends, and it looks like she can do a little bit of everything. Skills have only gotten more complex in recent seasons, and the same can be said of Mad Maggie – however, it’s unclear if her “a little bit of everything” approach makes her weak, viable or OP in meta or not.
Mad Maggie’s passive ability is called Warlord’s Ire, and it gives her the ability to sweep enemies she damages and move faster with a shotgun. Still not sure how long the scan lasts for one Apex Legends suitable, but it can be useful in close combat when enemies are rushing in and out of a building. However, her tactics take her passive to the next level.
Mad Maggie’s strategy is called Riot Drill, in which she fires a drill that scorches enemies through obstacles (such as Rampart’s shield). The big one-two passive tactic here is that her drill deals damage to enemies and so because of the passive she can sweep them as well. So Mad Maggie is not only capable of dealing damage, but can also scan – possibly in a similar way to Apex Legends Fuse’s character.
Finally, her ultimate ability also has several layers to it. It’s called the Wrecking Ball and sees Maggie throw this giant ball that leaves an acceleration pad when it wakes up (allowing her to close the gap and get a ball increased speed, similar to Octane, although anyone such as a team or an enemy can use these pads), and it will explode near enemies. Overall, it’s an ability related to speeding positioning and it’s tied to Maggie’s aggressive attitude.
A lot of season 12 seasons also seem to incorporate Maggie’s personality at the time. Fans know that Map of Olympus in Apex Legends is being updated, and that is due to some bad game in the name of Maggie. How far her story in relation to Apex Games goes remains to be seen, but it will be interesting to see how she changes the game in the first few weeks and beyond.
Apex Legends available on PC, PS4, Switch and Xbox One.
Batman is almost a month away from release, which means tickets will go on sale very soon, as announced by Matt Reeves and Warner Bros.
