AP Top 25 poll: Georgia up to No. 1 in college football rankings for first time in regular season since 1982


The Georgia Bulldogs have reached No. 1 within the AP Prime 25 Ballot for the primary time because the 2008 preseason ballot and for the primary time within the regular-season ballot since 1982. The Bulldogs opened 2008 with a 45-21 win over Georgia Southern, however apparently it wasn’t a powerful victory, because the Bulldogs fell to No. 2 the next week. Odds are a win towards undefeated No. 11 Kentucky this weekend will not trigger Georgia to fall within the ballot once more.

The Iowa Hawkeyes discover themselves proper behind Georgia at No. 2, transferring up a spot following their 23-20 win over Penn State and Alabama’s 41-38 loss to Texas A&M. The Crimson Tide fell 4 spots to No. 5, whereas Penn State dropped to No. 7. BYU was the one group to drop out of final week’s prime 10, plummeting to No. 19 following a loss to Boise State. Changing them is Michigan State, which jumped a spot from No. 11 to No. 10. The most important climb within the ballot this week comes from Texas A&M, which joins the ballot at No. 21 after not being ranked final week. Beating Alabama will try this for you.
