To celebrate the 2022 Platinum Anniversary, Showcase Cinemas are running a promotion where anyone named Elizabeth can receive free movie tickets on Friday, June 3rd.

Other variations of Elizabeth are also accepted. People can request free movie tickets from Showcase cinemas if their name is Liz, Lizzie, Eliza, Elissa, Elisa, Elise, Elsie, Elisabet, Beth, Betty, Bet, Bess, Bessie, Betsy, Betsey, Alisa, Lisel, Liselle, Lesetta is , Lib, Libby, Libbie, Tetsy, Tetty, Tibbie, Bethia, Lisabette, Lisabetta, Lisbeth, Elspie, Elspeth, Else, Elisabeth, Elisabete, Lusa, Erzsebet, or Lise.

In order to receive the free ticket, individuals must present photo ID (e.g. a driver’s license or passport) to confirm that their name is in fact Elizabeth.

There are 18 flagship cinemas across the country: Greenhithe in Kent, Bristol, Coventry, Derby, Glasgow, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, Nottingham, Paisley, Peterborough, Reading, Southampton, Teesside, Bristol and Cardiff.

Each of these locations participates in the program.

If an Elizabeth (or a Lisbeth) went to Showcase Cinema in Cardiff at 3:40pm today to see Top Gun: Maverick, she could watch it for free – but if she was a Kate, an Osbert, a James, an Adam , a Jessica or an Ifunanya, each is expected to pay £9.20 for the privilege of seeing Tom Cruise’s death-defying aerial stunts.

The free movie ticket promotion ends Friday 3rd June but Elizabeths are entitled to free popcorn on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th June.
