A new cooperative adventure board game in association with The Elder Scrolls Online announced by creator Chip Theory Games on Cloudspire.
The Elder Scrolls is a major franchise with many multimedia partnerships over the years. That includes many board games, including The Elder Scrolls: Call to Arms and The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim – Adventure Game, the second game is slated for release in 2022. Even with another board game still being released, another has now been announced. Introduce The Elder Scrolls: The Betrayal of the Second Agein connection with the ongoing events of Scrolls online.
The Elder Scrolls: The Betrayal of the Second Age is planned to be a cooperative tabletop fantasy adventure game. It’s for 1 to 4 players, with powerful systems for character progression and combat. That includes a wide selection of skills and spells drawn from Scrolls online, not to mention the character classes inspired by the heroes of the game and the universe. It, like other board games based on The Elder Scrolls before that, was actually a role-playing game.
The background of the board game and its story will both be taken from Scrolls online and The Elder Scrolls Overall, is good. According to the original description of the game’s story, the player will participate in an attempt by King of the Worms Mannicarco to join Coldharbour, an Oblivion’s plane, along with Nirn. It also confirms that the adventure will see players overcome them all Tamrielrather than being restricted to any region.

Chip Theory Games has also confirmed that it is working with Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls Online team directly on the game. The extent of this is not entirely clear. It could only be to ensure the authenticity of the world in The Elder Scrolls: The Betrayal of the Second Age. But it will be interesting to see if it leads to more specific relationships with Scrolls online and or any other Elder Scrolls Game.
An area left unexplained by the announcement of The Elder Scrolls: The Betrayal of the Second Age is the sponsorship and distribution plan of Chip Theory Games. Board game, especially licensed board games, are almost always doing crowdfunding in some form, so news of that is likely coming soon.
