Animated series returns as audio drama with Kevin Conroy

Batman: The Animated Series will continue in a new form, with Kevin Conroy returning alongside Smallville star John Glover as the Riddler.
Batman: Animated Series will continue as an audio drama instead of a traditional television animated series. Released in the 90s, Batman: Animated Series is a very popular and critically acclaimed television program.
In the history of Batman panel at Los Angeles Comic-Con, Kevin Conroy (Bruce Wayne/Batman) and John Glover (The Riddler) revealed that Batman: Animated Series will absolutely continue with the return of the original cast. Rumors of a return for the series have been circulating before, but many assumed it would return in the form of an animated show.
During the panel, two iconic voice actors offered a bit of a tease about what to expect. Conroy, one of the Batman’s definitive voice. Glover then went on to add, “The Riddler is back, and he’s evolved in so many ways… He understands he’s on the spectrum.” Furthermore, Conroy announced that Danny Elfman, who composed music for Tim Burton’s Batman movies and themes for animated series, will write themes for new audio dramas. A platform for the audio drama was not announced at the event.
Batman: Animated Series revered not only for its accurate depiction of the Caped Crusader but also for introducing new villains or improving upon the origins of classic enemies. Mr. Freeze, for example, is said to have a more sympathetic background, which adds human motivation to his motivation. This program is also responsible for Introducing Harley Quinn audience, and it’s been clear since then how interested fans have been in the character.
The fans who miss Batman: Animated Series hope to be thrilled by the movie sound. Of course, making an audio drama is difficult because it requires fans to fill in the blanks to see what they get to see, which is probably what DC is doing. Audio drama was the original format for a lot of these superhero shows, where kids sat at the radio listening to stories being told.
What DC will have to do is provide Batarang’s sound effects, punches, gunfire, gunfire, and more if they hope to get fans to enjoy the soundtrack. If it works well, it could become a new entertainment format for fans to listen to on their way to work.
