American Truck Simulator is heading to Montana

SCS Software has officially revealed the next expansion in development for American truck simulator, there is the United States Montana State.

Bordered by Wyoming to the south and Idaho to the east, Montana is another vast state that has some stunning natural features.

Known as the “State in the Big Sky,” Montana is the fourth largest state in the entire United States. But, similar to its neighbors, it doesn’t have many people calling it home; it has a population of just over a million people. At such a small scale for a group of permanent residents, its rolling landscape has the benefit of being filled with unspoiled beauty. Yellowstone National Park and Glacier National Park are some of the state’s natural highlights, and are among the biggest draws to tourism.

Past American truck simulator as extensive as Idaho and Outstanding Wyoming small sections of the national park, so surely Montana will do the same. The Rockies and Great Plains also continue to run through the state, so the accompanying landscape will certainly be introduced in the new expansion as well.

SCS has announced that Montana’s number of lakes, rugged mountain roads, and historic cities and towns will be featured in this virtual depiction of the state in American truck simulator. As with all of its other expansion announcements, a release date (or even release target) has yet to be mentioned.

Texas was also revealed a couple of months ago, and it was clearly stated that it would be a while before the community could experience it due to its sheer size and complexity. So even though it was clearly announced then, Montana will likely release before Texas due to being a smaller (albeit still quite large) state.

American truck simulator just got the last major update for 2021, along with its sister sim, Euro Truck Simulator 2. Recently released version 1.43 update in open beta form, which offers features such as a dump truck, improved interior cabin acoustics, among others. It wouldn’t be surprising if its full release arrives before the year ends.
