American lawyer imprisoned in Hong Kong speaks out about his treatment

No police officer has been arrested, charged or punished for any act associated to the 2019 unrest, when police confronted criticism for a heavy-handed crackdown on sometimes-violent protests. Eric Lai, a Hong Kong legislation fellow at Georgetown College’s Middle for Asian Regulation, mentioned the courts have tended to deal with police “not as people or as police, however as an emblem of legislation and order.”
