Claims in a US court document regarding an alleged sexual encounter between Edmonton Oilers owner Daryl Katz and a ballerina have been dropped. Global News have learned.
A source within Oilers Entertainment Group, the Global News has agreed not to name the couple, said Monday that a lawyer for the couple who claimed Katz paid for sex with a 17-year-old ballerina dropped the lawsuit after being presented with evidence from Katz’s legal team .
In a statement to Global News When the allegations came to light last month, Katz’s attorney said his client “unreservedly” denied the allegations.
The third party’s counterclaim was filed on July 8, 2022 by Mitchell Taylor Button and Dusty Button, naming the seven women they are suing and five others, including Katz. The countersuit was in response to sexual misconduct allegations made against the buttons. Among those making the allegations is a ballerina named Sage Humphries, who the Buttons allege had the sexual encounter with Katz.
