A guide to every song played during Conversations with Friends, from CMAT to Phoebe Bridgers to Wyvern Lingo
One of the things that characterizes Conversations with Friends is the soundtrack. There’s a ton of different indie music playing throughout the series, and that’s a big part of what gives the show its texture.
You may not have recognized all of these songs, but there are many you’ll probably find and want to listen to again – perhaps especially the brand new Phoebe Bridgers original song written specifically for this series.
Here’s your guide to every song played in the first 10 episodes of Conversations with Friends – just be aware that this is likely spoilers in some respects. Each of these songs can also be found on Spotify and Apple Music.

First Love/Late Spring from Mitski is the first song played in Episode 7. It’s also my favorite Mitski song, in case anyone was wondering.
Salty Liquorice (with Robyn) [Thomas Gold Remix] from Jonsi plays too. I didn’t take detailed enough notes for this first part of the series, to be honest.
The slow drug from PJ Harvey plays next. There were better grades for the next episodes, don’t worry.
