Super Mario Odyssey takes players through many kingdoms of different sizes and themes to defeat Bowser’s rabbit minions. Along the way, Mario can collect Purple Coins and Power Moons to unlock new items in the clothing store and power the ship to move to new levels. For players who want to know how many kingdoms in Super Mario Odyssey, this guide will include all kingdoms available in the game.

How many kingdoms are there in Super Mario Odyssey?

Count three additional “kingdoms” that the player can visit in the post-game Super Mario Odyssey, there are a total of 17 kingdoms that Mario can go to. Almost every kingdom in the game has its own set of Purple Coins and Power Moons to collect. Not every kingdom is the same size, but each kingdom has its own distinct theme and enemies will take over using Mario’s Unique Capture Mechanism.

How to unlock secret kingdoms

To unlock the throwback kingdom that is the Mushroom Kingdom, the player will need beat the main story of Super Mario Odyssey. To unlock Dark Side of the Moon, players need to collect 250 Power Moons. And then to unlock Darker Side, 500 Power Moons are required.
