Looks like it’s not love at first sight for the music tycoon couple Alicia key and Swizz Beatz.
The happy couple met when they were just teenagers in New York City. They got married in 2010, but the road to a romantic relationship wasn’t always so smooth.
In a sit-down interview with fast Norman, Alicia key explains why when they first met, the hip-hop producer didn’t impress her. She speaks,
I was not with it. He’s not my vibe… like he’s pretty loud, pretty on top, he likes a lot of attention.

Alicia key statements that shouldn’t shock people as she details their relationship in her memoirs More about myself. In the book, she explained how his flashiness took her away.
She writes,
We ended up in the same circles at various award ceremonies and industry events. He usually gets up in some luxury car, rolls around with his Bronx team and glitters with diamonds. I wanted nothing to do with that scene or with Swizz.
Until the first date, the singer said she began to have a different view of him. In an interview Key detailed her lecture on Swizz changed.
As we approached my car, I noticed something huge mounted on top of it. He was smiling. That’s why I’m late. It was a painting of a grand piano with paintbrushes on the keys. When I saw this, it seemed to me to be the perfect representation of our friendship. You are the key, I am the brush.
Since that day, the couple built a romantic relationship and progressed into marriage and two children.
Alicia key and Swizz Beatz was met with much criticism when they first started dating following allegations that the two started their relationship while Beatz still married to ex-wife Mashonda. Since then, the couple has been open about the obstacles to reconciling a family and moving forward in a positive way.
