Airei Fall 2022 Collection for Men – WWD

For his first collection shown during Paris Fashion Week, and Tuesday in general, Drew Curry thought about protection versus restraint – and where there’s a fine line between the two. . “Underneath all that, how can we find compassion for each other?” designer in Los Angeles mused.

He calls the collection “Flight,” but says its message is resilience. That is why “glory” is sewn by hand into a shirt.

This is a strong collection with striking contrasts and fine threads woven throughout. There’s a chunky ecru parka made from knitted khadi blankets. A gray sweater knit casually over a long white button-down shirt with red threads hanging across the heart. A hoodie, with rough edges and seams, has two layers.

Curry skillfully handcrafted yarns, such as recycled Italian cashmere wool, and fabrics, such as Japanese denim.

For his fashion film, he’s featured in his brand’s art installation at creative hub 3537. Synchronized with the 1:00 p.m. airtime of the half-hour video, which features Curry cuts the cord that wraps a large cube containing three mannequins dressed in his fashion, the designer begins to cut the cord – in real life – for an ongoing two-hour work of art.

“In a way, my performance almost liberated them,” he said. Airei Fall 2022 Collection for Men – WWD
