Act fast and grab a 5600X, 12700K or 12600K CPU at a low price

It’s time to save some money with a few more deals from Newegg. If you’re considering upgrading your CPU or starting to build a PC from scratch, there’s some good news for you. Newegg’s gets some very good deals here, with three CPUs that each deliver some impressive performance. Intel’s i5-12600K and its i7-12700K are both being sold alongside AMD’s Ryzen 5 5600X. It should also be pointed out that the price here is the lowest that these CPUs can get Micro Center’s December offer. But that won’t be the case for long as some of these services will disappear later today, so act fast.

Currently, Intel’s i5-12600K is on sale for $279.99 when using the included promo code ($320 MSRP), this Alder Lake CPU has a pretty impressive discount. With a total of 10 cores, divided into six performance cores and four efficiency cores, this CPU has a lot going for it at the price point. As we noted in our review, performance here is almost on par with older octa-core processors. Even so, thanks to its improved multi-threaded performance, it can handle multi-tasking much better, regardless of whether you’re streaming or using other apps while gaming.

Much of the same can be said for Intel’s i7-12700K, which is on sale for $364.99 ($450 MSRP) when using promo code. Except here, you’ll get eight performance cores and four efficiency cores. With these higher clocked extra cores, you can expect better performance in the most demanding games. All while ensuring your background apps run smoothly as well.

Feature problem

These CPUs also have the benefit of being part of Intel’s latest generation of Alder Lake processors, which means it’s a cheaper and easier way to access newer features introduced in this. Of course, support for DDR5, PCIe 5.0, and PCIe 4.0 SSDs are some of the larger features available to the related motherboard platforms. Equipping one of these CPUs will also allow you to plan for the future as faster graphics cards with more efficient bandwidth release.

However, this shouldn’t be an issue if you keep an eye on AMD’s Ryzen 5 5600X. It’s on sale for $256.99 (MSRP $300) when promo code is applied. The 5600X doesn’t support PCIe 5.0 or DDR5, so it’s not the safest way to protect your PC in the future. However, the six-core CPU doesn’t offer consistent mid-range gaming performance, especially at the price point Newegg offers right now. You can also reuse your existing motherboard to save more money. If you need a processor built for gaming and don’t need the latest features on the market, it’s a solid choice to use.

Great time to buy a new CPU

Each of these CPUs is great in its own right. Each offers great gaming performance, so in that respect it doesn’t matter which one you’re sold on. What you will need to think about is how you plan to use the CPU. Whether you decide to go with Intel or AMD, you get a good deal on a CPU. Act fast, though, as deals on these items end at 10:00 p.m. ET at 2 a.m. ET.
