Abandoned Must Be Something Special, Even If It’s Not Silent Hill
Abandoned is a mysterious project, and while it may not be the new Silent Hill, strange coincidences suggest that it’s something to keep a close eye on.
Upcoming mysterious PS5 project Abandoned has been the subject of conversation since it was announced earlier this year. This supposed indie horror action game is being made by Blue Box Game Studios, a company with no title other than its name. Things were blown up when a series of cryptic tweets from the studio seemed to imply that the game would be a whole new installment in the series. Silent Hill movie, which fans have loved for years.
After a series of failed disclosure events, Abandoned has been silent for several months. However, Blue Box recently announced an upcoming Prologue trailer, as well as a playable segment for players to enjoy ahead of its full release. It is important to control expectations and not jump to conclusions. However, this announcement coming so close to the Game Awards as well as the fact that Sony heavily advertised the game on the PS Store seems to imply that this may not be just another small indie project.
Abandoned – The long, unfamiliar road
Just a few months ago, Abandoned has been the subject of much speculation. While some have trusted Blue Box that it is actually a brand new IP and indie game, others have delved into the game’s marketing and background and believe that Abandoned is an elaborate ruse. Some have theorized that it is a New Silent Hill Hideo Kojima’s game, while others believe it to be the revival of Solid metal gears franchise under the supervision of Sony – Blue Box has denied any such rumors.
Whatever the case may be, the evidence presented seems to make a convincing argument that Abandoned not just meet the eye. The most notable feature of the game is that it is being supported by Sony, as well as being promoted on the official PlayStation YouTube channel. One wonders why such a random indie game is getting so much attention compared to dozens of other games on the market.
The timing of the opening tease was abandoned
As mentioned before, Abandoned announced that the Prologue segment will launch in early Q1 2022, giving players a first look at the project. This announcement was made just a few days ago Game Awards 2021, an event that often features new game trailers along with multiple prizes.
Geoff Keighley has revealed that there will be an announcement made at The Game Awards after more than two years in the making. While this could be anything, Death Stranding two years old now, with Hideo Kojima Confirmed to have worked hard on a new project. It most likely won’t be Silent Hill the last, but strange mystery of Abandoned certainly his style, and considering Keighley is his good friend, the final curtain may have come close to its resolution.
Anything can happen, and all of this should be considered a grain of salt. However, there were too many clues regarding What Abandoned To be let it just come and go without real fanfare. Regardless of the final project, hopefully it can meet the high level of interest it has generated since it was announced.
Abandoned will release in 2022 on PC and PS5.
