A Criminally Bad Tim Allen Comedy Soars Up the Charts

Tim Allen has a series of sub-family comedies of the same name with him including Wild Hogs, Christmas with Kranks, and extremely bizarre comedy Blunt dog. His 2010 film, Crazy outside failed with a horrible 8 percent on Rotten Tomatoes but somehow found its way into the top 10 list on Amazon Prime, each FlixPatrol.
Anyone can guess why he decided to make another recipe movie with overused images. Maybe Allen thought he could do better if he didn’t just act but sit in the director’s chair, which is exactly what he did. Crazy outside is the only feature film he has directed in his entire career and after its lousy performance, thankfully he learned his lesson never to direct again.
In the film, Allen plays Tommy, a con man who has recently returned to the world after spending three years in prison for a crime and has fallen for his much more dangerous partner, Grey. Tommy moves in with his manipulative sister and her husband and tries to adjust to life outside by taking a job at a local burger joint, but living a crime-free life isn’t as easy as he initially thought. Things only further complicate things when Tommy falls in love with his pardoned officer and his former partner in crime tries to draw him into his latest plot.
Besides Allen, the film also features famous names like Sigourney Weaver (Alien, Avatar), Ray Liotta (Goodfellas), and Oscar-winning JK Simmons (Spider-Man, Whiplash). If you want to see all the buzz going on or are just looking for a nostalgic comedy hit then you can check out Crazy outside on Netflix right now.
