A construction worker was seriously injured after a car hit them in Cochrane, Calgary, according to the RCMP

According to an RCMP spokesman, a female construction worker allegedly suffered “serious but not life-threatening injuries” after a car struck her at the intersection of Highway 1A and Center Avenue in Cochrane, Alta.

Police said the woman, who worked as a “flag person,” was hit by a white car around 6:25 p.m. Monday. The RCMP said officers found the suspect vehicle nearby shortly after and the driver was in custody. They did not say whether charges were pending.

According to police, traffic in the area was seriously disrupted as an RCMP collision analyst worked to investigate exactly what happened.
