A bridge too far: Jefferies doubles number of ‘structurally lacking’ bridges

Christiana Stephenson, communications director at the House of Representatives Democratic Caucus, where Jefferies chairs, defended her comment by noting that 112,797 bridges had been listed by ARTBA in a different category – “fair conditions. ” According to the FHWA, that means “all major structural components are acoustic but there may be some minor cross-sectional loss, cracking, bubbling or peeling.”
