50 lakh Indians died due to Centre’s wrong decisions, alleges Rahul Gandhi

Leaders of the National Assembly Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday alleged that about 500,000 Indians died in the second wave of COVID-19 infection due to the “wrong decision” of Union government.

India has officially reported about 4,18 lakh Covid deaths in the country so far. Gandhi shared on Twitter handle a new study of Global Development Center The report estimates excess mortality from three different data sources from the start of the pandemic through June 2021.

“Truth. Wrong decisions made by GOI during the second wave of Covid killed 500,000 of our sisters, brothers, mothers and fathers,” he tweeted while sharing the research.

In another tweet, Gandhi talked about the central government saying no to any compensation for those killed in the farmers’ protest.

“Everything is recorded in the tears of those who have lost loved ones,” he said in a tweet in Hindi using the hashtag ‘farmers’ protest’.
