4 Day One Xbox Game Pass PC games to be revealed at Game Awards
Microsoft plans to announce four more PC games launching on the Xbox Game Pass subscription service during The Game Awards this Thursday.
As many gamers know, Xbox Game Pass isn’t a console-only party. Real-time strategy game Age of Empires 4 launch day one on Xbox Game Pass for PC and coming Warhammer: Total War 3 same thing in February. Other games like Bethesda’s Starfield and Redfall confirmed to launch on Game Pass for both PC and console.
Those aren’t the only confirmed titles launch on Game Pass from day one, and it looks like the subscription service is going to have a few more plans coming soon. A recent tweet from the Game Pass for PC Twitter account reveals that Microsoft plans to announce four more in the near future. Game Award on December 9th.
The tweet itself shows a screenshot of an email from “Melissa McGamepass” sent to Game Pass social media managers listing PC games set to launch on Game Pass. The first of two display lists Total War: Warhammer 3, Redfall, Starfield, STALKER 2: The Heart of Chernobyl, Atomic heart, Slime Rancher 2, A Plague Tale: Requiem, Pupperazzi, Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator, Replaced, Somerville, Eiyuden Chronicles: Rise, and Scornful. The second list is heavily edited but shows four unannounced games coming to Game Pass for PC. Microsoft will reveal these titles in Game Award this Thursday.
It’s not clear from the tweet what those four headlines could be or whether they are PC exclusive. All four games could have been announced for PC, Xbox or other platforms. It is also possible that some or all of these are new projects that have not been announced in advance. All fans really know is that the overall length of the titles is concealed behind red bars, which isn’t too much to go on.
In addition to announcing upcoming announcements, the Tweet also features an easter egg for eagle-eyed fans. Tweaking the color balance will show a hidden message that says: “If you are the first to edit this photo, congratulations here is a code.” Unfortunately for anyone new to this, it looks like someone redeemed the code, though it looks like they haven’t gone ahead to reveal what the secret prize is.
This really leaves two mysteries for fans to figure out. Many studios will announce or reveal new games during Thursday’s awards ceremony. These include a secret MMO project from a Dragon age developer, a newbie Sonic games, and whatever War to the death NetherRealm developer has been working. There’s a chance that one or all of these will make their way to Xbox Game Pass soon, though gamers won’t know for sure until The Game Awards take place later this week.
Game Awards 2021 premieres December 9 at 5:00 p.m. PST.
