There are still many positive signs in recent times. New weekly jobless cases have been steadily declining for the year, reaching pre-pandemic levels. The trade deficit narrowed in October and consumer spending grew at its fastest pace since March, according to the Commerce Department. Those signs have prompted many analysts to revise up their expectations for economic growth in the final three months of 2021.
