(WJW) – Last week, many American families started receiving child tax credit pay directly in their bank account or by mail. Along with these fact checks, however, came a flurry of false Facebook posts claiming that even more money was coming in.

Many Facebooks post, shared and seen by hundreds of people, says another round of stimulus checks, this time for $2,500, has passed Congress and people will start seeing them on July 30. when some people understand these posts as a joke (a link on a post took the user to a photo of a monkey), others, like comment shows, could have considered them seriously.

It is important to note that since the third round of stimulus checks was launched in March, many politicians have called for a fourth round for Americans. However, no such thing has been approved at the federal level.
