1000 level cap, next generation update and more

Apex Legends account levels were raised in December 2020 and most of the players who have been playing since the first year have reached the maximum limit. As the year draws to a close, Respawn is said to be working on another annual update that will include a level cap increase. The developers have also promised a next-gen upgrade with graphics improvements and FPS (Frames Per Second) increases for the new consoles. In addition to all of the above changes, cross-save is also being worked on, which will allow you to seamlessly transfer the look and feel of your accounts and other items to any platform.
When will Apex Legends’ level cap be increased?
According to the famous leaker ‘Garret’, the next generation update of Apex Legends is coming very soon. The developers had promised 2021 but with the game being hit by DDOS attacks along with server crashes that got worse with each update, things seem to have been delayed.
We may not get another annual update this year in December 2021 with supposed limited boosts and next-gen updates but it’s still possible. Respawn Communications Director Ryan K. Rigney in the Season 10 Q&A that the update is indeed working. Garret stated in his video that the holiday season is just around the corner and it would make sense for Respawn to roll out the update later this year as a lot of people will be buying new consoles around Black Friday and Christmas.
The limit is expected to be increased to 1000, up from 500 which is the current limit. Last year, Respawn also adjusted the number of Apex packs you get. If the developers do the same this year, players who are already at level 500 can get bonus packs. There is also a chance that the frequency of spawning of packages will be lower from level 500 to 1000 as the number of packs over 10 levels continues to decrease from 1 to 500.
What else is included in the annual update
Cross progression Currently only on Steam and Origin. Respawn is also working on bringing cross-development to non-PC platforms as part of its next-gen update. Once the crossover goes live, players will be able to log into any platform with their existing EA account and continue making all their progress. There is a chance that rankings will not be transferred but all in-game items, badges and account data will be transferable at any time.
The next-gen update for Xbox Series S/X and PS5 will increase frame rates, and we can expect graphics improvements as well. All changes have been promised by the end of 2021 and with just a month to go, it remains to be seen whether Respawn will live up to its promise before the holiday season ends.
